Try Anyways

Thank you Shellie Summers for the artwork! September 21 In this first dream;  People lived under a dome for a long time that covered their whole town (Outside was snow). The first part of this dream had a very beautiful stop motion animation look that was absolutely gorgeous. The dome over the town was clear, anyone on the outside could see everything happening on the inside. S omehow, zombies got inside the dome and began destroying our sanctuary. A father and son managed to escape the dome, traveling towards a new city. On the journey they met a police officer who joined their crew, followed by another person later on. With each person, there was an introduction slide card. I struggled to read them. The dream was no longer a stop-motion situation. On the way to the sanctuary, zombies began to appear, running like animals on all fours to keep up with us and the police escort that was suddenly following us. A fight broke out between us and them, it did not go well.  Just outs...

Eyes of God

September 13 A dream where the Catholic church was involved. A lady was trying to earn her wings but got tricked by another into doing her dirty work. Many spirits served this undead woman in her existential purgatory. The church condemned her to hell for her crimes against humanity and a gate appeared and swallowed her up, but then, a hand reached through the gate, grabbed her out. The hand was the hand of God. The nun was condemned, the woman who served her was saved despite her sins. The women sprouted wings and was freed from her purgatory. This dream was very interesting, and hard to write about. The lesson that I most clearly see is this idea of God looking at the heart and making judgements. I as a Christians might judge somebody as worthy of divine punishment, and then God turns around and rescues those that I condemn. We both place judgements, but, only one of us is justified in doing so. Those I condemn could be the next Paul or Samson.  Example:  Cain kills A...

N-O-O-D-L-E, S-O-U-P

Photo by Mae Mu on Unsplash September 9th It worked! I don't know what worked, but I finally had a dream in American Sign Language. In my dream, on September 9th, my family was at a restaurant, and our waiter was hard of hearing. Somehow, I perceived a miscommunication between her and my mom regarding her food order, and she could not hear my mom when she had attempted to communicate to her the miscommunication. This was when it clicked that maybe I could try using ASL in the situation. I used a bit of signing and finger-spelling to communicate my mom's dinner order, "N-O-O-D-L-E, S-O-U-P" to her. Funny enough, it was the first time I ever finger-spelled "N-O-O-D-L-E, S-O-U-P." After placing my family's order, she came back around to say, "Thank you." Apparently, she was the only Deaf person in the entire town, and she did not have the opportunity to use sign language. Instead of signing, she had to read lips and watch other body motions just ...

Time-Lancer

Thank you Shellie Summers for the amazing Artwork! September 8 Time-Lancers, a supernatural breed of humans that lived among us primarily in secret, excluding, of course, the few humans that knew about them and sought to kill them. This dream was centered around a young boy who, due to the recent death of his parents, had become the last of the Time-Lancers. At the young age of 10,000, he looked just like any 10-year-old boy should. Time Lancers seemed to age relatively slowly in comparison to humans, they also seemed to possess a really powerful memory. The absolute best way to describe their memory would be time travel because they could essentially relive any moment in their lives as if they had jumped back in time. They could also process this information so fast that they could live the length of their entire lives in a single moment. If memory serves correct, a Time-Lancer could see and interact with red strands (fates) that every person was wrapped around within varying d...

Predator Planet

Photo by NASA on Unsplash September 7; Nap I took a nap today and had a somewhat horrific dream - now I'm going to write about it. In the dream, a radio transmission was picked up on a spaceship from somewhere within the chaos and expanse of the void. The transmission was a call for help by the sole survivor of a planetary colonization mission. The planet in question was so beautiful, covered in lush exotic plant life and all manner of creatures. Under normal circumstances this would be great news for the colonist; in this case, however, it was not. Everything on the planet, including the trees, were carnivorous. The circular plant-based structure they created was nowhere near strong enough to protect them from what was beyond the plant fiber walls. On top of the fact that everything wanted to eat them, they had no food. As a substitute for hunting, they would have lots of kids, allow them to mature, and then take grown adults to tree- like structures that had white fleshy skin o...

Vox Populi

Photo by Keagan Henman on Unsplash September 6, In my dream, a controversial story came across the news, apparently, an anchorman was found to have markings of a right ring political group. I have the feeling it was a red circle on the back of his left shoulder with an "R" or some symbol inside the circle. Members would use this to get access to group meetings I believe. This was quite scandalous in this dream for some reason. Once I awoke, dream logic plagued my mind. From this state of corruption, I began to write everything you are about to read below.  "Shouldn't news people take a more objective approach to their personal lives and not one leaning either right or left. The reason being, if they are objective and produce objective news then they can truly call themselves objective reporters. However, to create true objectivity we must create objectivity (you heard that right), and this is our dilemma. To have objective media we must have objective media already,...

Drifting God

September 06, 2020 Where does God go when we need Him? Let’s dive into the Biblical text to glean some understanding about this. Genesis 3: After Adam and Eve ate from the “Tree of Knowledge” and made clothes to cover themselves, God stepped on the scene. He passed through the Garden looking for them. Where He was is never mentioned. However, where He was going is highlighted here for us. He was looking for mankind, and we hid. What would have happened if they waited for God to come and look for them? Genesis 20:1-18 - this is where Abraham lied about his wife's identity for fear of his own life. She was then taken from him by the king, Abimelech. God confronted the king to keep him from Abraham’s wife. God was not just watching silently, and the King was given a choice to make. He knew God and submitted to His authority, unlike some of the examples to come.  King David would find himself in a similar situation, and though Biblical law is clear about not sleeping with another man...

Monsters & Men

September 3 There were two kingdoms at war with each other, but it was not the people who fought the battles. It was a King from both sides, a group of princes, and a princess on each side. One nation was the human side; this was the kingdom I followed. The other was full of monsters with human qualities. After a very intense skirmish that occurred just a few minutes prior, the beast-men wandered into our territory on the hunt for some form of retribution for our assault. From a hideout in the caves, we looked down upon the beast and plotted our next move. The young King decided that he would take a smaller group from among the bunch, princes only, and invade the neighboring kingdom a second time with much darker intentions than before. He did not want to tell the princess of his plan, nor his advisor (another prince), knowing full well that they would oppose him. He was right.  "This is more than a war between nations; it is a war within yourself. Don't do this. " the w...

Black & White

A big thanks to my friend Shellie Summers for the artwork! August 29 I debated for several days about posting this dream. I was so conflicted about it that in my dream last night, I was confronted by my dad who told me to go ahead and post it - so I will. In this incredibly short dream, I was listening to a woman who was visibly upset and venting her frustration to me in regards to her ethnic Identity. She looked white, but she was black. Her frustration was centered around a conversation she had with an African-American man who denied her African heritage due to her white s kin tone. After lending her my ear in a random grocery store, I found myself shocked to hear that she was black, "Was she speaking about the ‘one-drop rule’ or something?" Of course, I am pretty sure she was not talking about the one-drop rule. Dream Sequence Over:  From a waking perspective, this made no sense. I have many cousins that look totally white despite having African-American ancestry or an Afr...
