Standing Still

Photo by Zoltan Tasi on Unsplash November 25, 2020 In this dream, a tribe of mer-people (like Mermaids, but both genders) decided to leave the sea and make a home for themselves on dry land. However, a flood came and the people began to panic as the sea desperately reached for it’s old friends. Zeus and Poseidon came down from  heaven and said to the people, "This storm will pass, and you will not die.” The people did not trust the gods' word, so they returned to the sea as mer-people with a plan. Their fishtails returned, and they performed a beautifully haunting song and dance. It was like a hum, but much more powerful. Simultaneously they danced through the sea until it had been lulled into tranquility. Afterward, they returned to dry land and their human-like form, handing Poseidon his  Triton as they passed him by. It's easy to believe them when the storm is far away. However, our faith is tested under the pressure of the storm when it has arrived. The gods said not...

Ghoulish Thoughts

November 16; This dream took place amidst the chaos of a zombie apocalypse; it was terrifying but also kinda awesome.  The number of zombies was truly remarkable. Survival at all seemed to be a miracle of sorts. Somehow through all of the chaos, I managed to find my way out of the infected zone; however, this respite would be but a moment and nothing more. As I re-entered the infected zone, I encountered a man who had suffered a great loss. There was a door with several names written in red from top to bottom on the door. All the names were of infected individuals on the other side. One of those names, "Stephanie," was the name of his wife. I looked at the door, held up my hands, put my thumb and middle finger together, extended my other fingers, and snapped. In response, the first name disappeared. I snapped again, and the second name disappeared. Though I could not see those on the other side of the door, with a few more snaps of my finger, the rest of them were liberated...

Diamonds in the Desert

The artwork is provided by Isabella Baker 2020, November 15,  This dream told the story of an African king that was very wealthy; however, the people in his domain were destitute. Feeling pity for his subjects, the king took the entirety of his wealth, in the form of diamonds, and had it buried in a desert. So vast was his wealth that the entire nation was able to live without fear for a year on whatever they were able to dig up. The following year, fewer people returned to the desert, where much of the king's riches remained buried beneath the sand. A documentary crew followed the story of a people who continued to sift the desert sands for diamonds and thus could make a living for themselves. However, their search was not limited to the desert; anywhere they went became a place worth checking for the valuable lumps of carbon . In this way, I learned a valuable lesson. So true is the old adage, "If you give a man a fish, you feed a man for a day; if you teach a man to fish, y...

American Theonomy

Photo by Michael Descharles on Unsplash November 8th ; American Theonomy In the 1st Dream, I traveled to Japan with my brother. For the trip, we were staying with a big family that opened their home to us. Their home looked like a traditional Japanese home, except it had thick wooden sliding doors, and it was inside a skyscraper on what could have easily been the 25th floor. Their father took off work to spend a few days with us, having planned out a few adventures during our time with them. He also prepared a delicious looking dessert, a homemade plum honey/syrup that was to be added to rice, similar in concept to mango sticky rice. In this family were three sons, all of whom were metalheads. The three sons all bought wigs so they could headbang to their favorite songs. But when they were done, they would take them off, revealing short hair underneath the long wigs. The 2nd Dream consisted of a conversation between two Christians wherein the statement was made,  “Heart cha...

Does Knowledge Puffeth Up?

Biblical Hermeneutics Why one might ask, is hermeneutics important? Have you ever heard the saying that knowledge puffeth up? It comes from 1 Corinthians 8:1 wherein which I have often heard it said to me as a form of discouragement due to my love of research and knowledge. The reason proposed is that knowledge makes you prideful; thus, knowledge is a dangerous pursuit for those not pastors. This idea is not only far from what Paul was trying to say, but it also contradicts statements like what is written in Hebrews 5:11-14. 1 Corinthians 8:1-13 "Knowledge puffs up, and love edifies" is best understood when read in its entirety and in comparison with "Acts 15:20; "Abstain from things contaminated by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood" which was written to Gentile believers and is the 4 rules that they had been given instead of being given the law as Jewish believers had insisted at the time. 1 Corinthians 8:1-13 is ...

Biblical Theocracy

Photo by Jonathan Borba on Unsplash The Protectorate State Biblical Theocracy Politics: A volatile topic that I am deciding to delve into. Through this post, I will face my ignorance regarding politics using the Bible as my guide. We shall look at two topics in the pursuit of coming to a greater understanding - those topics being: Ownership Distribution Without further ado, let us begin with the topic of ownership and production. Ownership : Production When talking about ownership, the words “Capitalism” and “Socialism” are often the first to mind. Capitalism constitutes the private (individual) ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange. Socialism “promotes” collective ownership of these same three institutions . How one understands ownership will be based on one of two theories. Some have proposed that the earth was made by God for mankind to rule over. One might look to Genesis 1:26-30 to corroborate this worldview .  Our second opposing theory suggests t...

Moros Marble

Photo by The Ian on Unsplash I had this dream a few years ago. In it, a young man stood facing a town just on the horizon. His eyes had a glint, and he had a small marble in his hand. With the flick of his finger, it went flying towards the city. The marble flew at such high speeds that time itself seemed to stop. The marble bounced off of buildings and light poles. It went through pipes, across fire hydrants, and it flew by hundreds of cars. After crisscrossing the entire town, it came rolling back to the young man right outside of town. The young man lifted the front of his boot as the marble approached and then stomped his foot down as it stopped underneath it. The marble entered a hole at the bottom of his shoe and came rolling out of his shirt sleeve and into his hand. Afterward, he shoved his hand into his pocket and turned his back to the city. He began to walk away, a smile on his face. As time returned to normal, the city collapsed under the force of several powerful explosio...
