Moros Marble

I had this dream a few years ago. In it, a young man stood facing a town just on the horizon. His

eyes had a glint, and he had a small marble in his hand. With the flick of his finger, it went flying

towards the city. The marble flew at such high speeds that time itself seemed to stop. The

marble bounced off of buildings and light poles. It went through pipes, across fire hydrants, and

it flew by hundreds of cars. After crisscrossing the entire town, it came rolling back to the young

man right outside of town. The young man lifted the front of his boot as the marble approached

and then stomped his foot down as it stopped underneath it. The marble entered a hole at the

bottom of his shoe and came rolling out of his shirt sleeve and into his hand. Afterward, he

shoved his hand into his pocket and turned his back to the city. He began to walk away, a smile

on his face. As time returned to normal, the city collapsed under the force of several powerful

explosions and was consumed by flames.

Positives and negatives in our lives are at times the result of a series of events that began

somewhere within our blindspot; only seeing that which impacts us directly but not that which

births those things that shake our foundations. We spend our lives looking at the consequences

and not the cause of positives and negatives, and in doing this, we miss the face of Moros -

which, in Greek mythology, represents a fate one cannot avoid.

Afro-American Zeitgeist

Photo by Ali Hajian on Unsplash The Afro-American Zeitgeist : A Summary of Unconscious Thoughts on Race (Part 1) July 30th, Passionless Bliss : "I am not afraid of death because death is invisible. If I can't see where it's going or what it is doing, is it doing anything at all? However, I am afraid of empty buildings because they confirm the reality of death's existence." Or, in simpler terms, Ignorance is bliss until reality hits. My dreams began by directly addressing my unwillingness to look into the deaths of African-Americans across the country. Despite my lack of knowledge, I became seriously opinionated about the nature of the incidents themselves, almost refusing to consider blackness as a factor. However, after the first dream, I began an investigation to prove blackness had nothing to do with these deaths. In the following paragraphs, I will take you through the sequence of dreams, which forced me to come to the conclusions, or at least my current stan...

Son of Jupiter

A nap dream (9/8/21) Jupiter Victor: he who has the power of conquering everything Jupiter Ruminus: Breastfeeder of every living thing A young Roman finds himself in Olympus, the house of the Gods. It appeared as though he had stepped into a cloud that had been intricately carved into the shape of a room. As the room formed around him, gods began to greet each other from within the chaos.  The young man walks towards the edge of the room and looks out into a vast swirling of angry black clouds. Thunder rumbles loudly, and beneath it is the roar of some dangerous monstrosity just out of sight. Out of that vast darkness, the figure of a man begins to take shape. Starting with a head and a strong beard before the rest of him in the same manner.  The young man looked at his father in disgust, Jupiter, the king of the gods. With no hesitation, the god-king began to approach his son, who was still standing at the edge of Olympus. I felt like I was watching a father approach his son;...
